Green liveried London Transport country bus CR43, registration FXT 149, on route 481 at the recently occupied Wells Estate, Epsom in 1953. CR43 had been repainted from red to green livery in May 1953 and allocated to LH Leatherhead garage which is confirmed in this shot and the paintwork looks to be unblemished.
The smartly clad driver looks on quizically and the hound expectanrtly but why? Werll the answer is that the driver's seat is occupied by a teenage girl who is clearly smiling but her body language suggests that she's anything but at ease.
