The final days for the Southern Electric 4-COR units were spent on secondary duties mainly along the south coast. Here we see 4-COR 3160 in its final form of corporate blue livery with the entire front acting as a yellow warning panel. The headcode '1' suggests that this shot taken at Hove was a West Worthing to Brighton service and a sharp eyed viewer has spotted that there are 2-car electric units stabled in the non-electrified yard which were 2-HAL's that had been used as parcel units in the run up to Christmas (1971??) and were even renumbered as 061 etc. After use they languished here for about a month.
