Southern Electric 4-CEP unit 7118 in what appears to be green livery and as there's no yellow warning panel then that's probably correct. The location is Tonbridge with thanks to Steve Roffey for providing that information. David Woodcock suggests that this is a crew-training run in late Spring 1961. The semaphore signalling is still intact and the conductor rails look barely used.
Another viewer adds the following notes : "7118 phase 1 unit, still with whistle as opposed to air horns, but with new smaller number blinds as opposed to the original large ones. More importantly also painted with First Class cantrail band. The unit would appear to be making a shunt move away from the camera, hence white as opposed to red headcode blinds but no tail lamp which was still required at this period.
