The Big Freeze of 1963 actually started in the south of England with heavy snowfalls on the 26th and 27th of December 1962. This shot was taken from King's Lane overbridge in Sutton before the end of 1962 and depicts a pair of 4-Epb electric units with a Holborn to West Croydon service, headcode 06, having just left Sutton, next stop Carshalton Beeches.
