It isn't immediately obvious but this colour slide is a gem. When the Southern's 6-Pul and 6-Pan units were withdrawn from Brighton line services in 1965 that should by rights have have seen the end of them but some gained a new lease of life on the South Eastern section as 6-Cor units. Here we see unit nos. 3043 (leading) and 3050 on July 18th, 1967 on the Chatham main line near St. Mary Cray Junction just east of the Chislehurst Loop.
