Southern Railway Maunselol designed 'K' class 2-6-4T no. A792 River Arun at Brighton shed. A792 was built by Armstrong Whitworth & Co in May 1925 and along with the rest of this class was blamed for the serious accident at Sevenoaks on August 24th, 1927 although it's long been accepted that the reasons for the derailment were more likely due to poorly maintained permanent way and exceptionally wet weather. In any event, the decision was taken to rebuild these handsome tank engines in 1928 as moguls classified as the 'U' class. In its rebuilt form and eventually numbered 31792 by BR withdrawal would come at Yeovil Town shed in September 1964.
