No. 766, depicted here at Dover Marine, was one of the Maunsell King Arthur 4-6-0's built in 1925 by the North British Locomotive Co. Ltd. With urie pattern tenders and were colloquially known amongst enthusiasts as 'Scotch Arthurs'. Bearing the Arthurian name Sir Geraint, we see the loco in this shot at the side of Dover Marine station prior to February 1928 when the smoke deflectors were fitted. BR numbered 30766 remained in service until withdrawal from Stewarts Lane mpd in 1958.
