Southern Railway Maunsell L1 class 4-4-0 no. 1786 in charge of a hop pickers special ssing High Broomsbrickwor in 1946. This is an interesting collection of rolling stock when compared with other shots of hop pickers trains in this collection. No. 1786 was built by NBL in 1926, BR branded in April 1948 and was one of many Maunsell 4-4-0's that were moved to the Western Section when steam operations declined in Kent. 31786 was one of few of those that saw extensive use after that mass reallocation and would be withdrawn in February 1962 whilst allocated to Nine Elms mpd.
