Southern Railway Maunsell L1 class 4-4-0 no. 1787 in charge of a horse racing fans special in the sidings at Tattenham Corner probably in 1946. No. 1787 was rebuilt from an SECR Wainwright 'L' class by NBL in 1926, was BR branded in April 1948 and was one of many Maunsell 4-4-0's that were moved to the Western Section when steam operations declined in Kent. 31787 would be withdrawn in January 1961 whilst allocated to Nine Elms mpd.
