Maunsell designed 'U' class mogul No. 1792 is seen here with spotless LSWR stock at Yeovil Junction in the summer of 1947 whilst awaiting departure in the Up direction on what is probably a stopping service to Salisbury. No. 1792 was a rebuild from a 'K' class 2-6-4T No. A792 River Arun built in 1925 by Armstrong Whitworth for the Southern Railway and was rebuilt into this form at Eastleigh in 1928. When this shot was taken of 1792 in unlined black livery with 'sunshine' letters/numbers the loco was allocated to nearby Yeovil Town mpd which was its home shed for all bar a couple of years at Eastleigh until eventual withdrawal in September 1964.
