SECR B1 class 4-4-0 no. 1441 was a Wainwright rebuild of an SER Stirling designed 'B' class built in 1898 by Neilson Reid & Co. It wouldn't achieve BR status being withdrawn in 1947. The accompanying text for this negative is illegible but a viewer has kindly informed me that 1441 is on shed at Dover Marine. The building to the right is the SER's Lord Warden Hotel and Dover Castle is just visible in the gap between the two engines.
