RCTS: Invicta Special 12/9/54
This tour of predominantly East Kent rather strangely started from Liverpool Street behind a pair of ex-GER J69 0-6-0T's which took the train under the Thames to Blackheath No. 1 siding where the Southern took over proceedings for the rest of the day. This shot's location isn't stated on the sleeve but two viewers have told me it was taken at Faversham and features Kirtley R1 0-4-4T No. 31671 which was incharge of the legs from Rainham to Sheerness and thence to Sittingbourne and Faversham. 31671 was one of the last of the class in sefvice and would be withdrawn in November 1954 from Gillingham shed.
