LCGP: The Bridport Belle 22/1/67
This is the ill-fated tour that found itself being the harbinger of a corpse (from the previous use of the rolling stock) which had to be respectfully detrained at Basingstoke on the first leg of the day's proceedings. However, the real delay wasn't on Southern metals but came later in the day on the Bridport branch where two Ivatt Mickey Mouse tanks got stuck and had to have diesel assistance to extricate themselves. This led, despite the final leg of the tour being substantially truncated, to a 150 minutes late arrival at Waterloo.
Here we see Bulleid original light pacifics nos. 34102 Lapford and 34057 Biggin Hill during a photostop at Grateley.
