Bulleid original Merchant Navy pacific no. 21C19 French Line C.G.T. had entered SR service in June 1945 and is depicted here in nearly sparkling condition at Bournemouth Central in 1947/8. The 'dolly' suggests that 21C19 is reversing in order to gain access to the shed whilst the begrimed rear of the tender side sheet tells us that this is a reversal from Bournemouth West following a journey down from Waterloo. 21C19 acquired its BR number 35019 in March 1948 and would be a Nine Elms allocated engine for most of its relatively short working life. Transferred to Weymouth mpd in September 1964, withdrawal would be from that same shed a year thereafter.
