LCGB: A2 Commemorative Railtour 14/8/66
Having already endured the failure of a V2 on the Southern, it was then the turn of Peppercorn A2 pacific no. 60532 BluePeter, also a Dundee based engine, to redress the balance which, unfortunately, it didn't accomplish as it consistently lost time and had to be substituted at Westbury on the return leg. Here we see the ensemble taking on liquid refreshment at Salisbury already 36 minutes down on the schedule. There's some irony for me when I see these images as I missed the V2 because it simply didn't turn up and when 60532 visited the SR and passed only some five miles from my home I was on a family holiday quite near Dundee!
