British Railways: Last Steam from Paddington 11/6/65.
On June 11th 1965 BR organised what they deemed to be the last official steam train from Paddington. In point of fact is was just the regular 16:15 to King's Sutton with a couple of extra coaches attached and extended to run through to Banbury with a long layover in the loop at Bicester to allow a following class 47 hauled Birmingham train to pass. Here we see the motive power, Collett Castle class 4-6-0 No. 7029 Clun Castle, during its extended stop at Princes Risborough.
