Gresley A3 pacific 60112 St. Simon at the unlikely location of Clapham Junction on 24/8/63 the day before hauling a railtour from Waterloo.
This is an interesting but albeit less than perfect shot of a most unusual occurrence. 60112 is reversing through the Windsor line platforms at a goodly clip which is partly why there is slight motion blur and it didn't help that, at the very moment of passing, a cloud coverted the sun. However, it's still worth including this shot as it clearly shows Clapham Junction's well known 'A' box and also of note is that someone evidently didn't trust the Southern's coal supply. Note the enormous heap of quality coal in the tender.
