LCGB: The West Countryman Limited Rail Tour 24/2/63
On this bitterly cold February morning and with much jostling for position amongst the assembled throng, Gresley's famed LNER A4 pacific no. 60022 Mallard presents a stirring sight on the Down Through road at Raynes Park whilst journeying from Waterloo to Exeter. That location was always likely to be a good one for Down trains barring blockage of the view by something on the Slow line which nearly happened as 34081 had done just that only minutes beforehand.
