LNER Gresley A1 pacific no. 2581 Neil Gow is in charge of the Down Flying Scotsman as the loco slakes its thirst from Langley water troughs near Stevenage in 1933. 2581 was built by NBL in November 1924 and would be BR branded as no. 60082 in June 1948 whilst allocated to Heaton mpd. 60082 moved around the NE region during 1950's and ended up at Gateshead where she would be withdrawn in September 1963.
