Bulled upThompson B1 4-6-0 No. 61024 Addax with an interesting rake of stock which isn't apparent in this particular shot. The interest lies in the inclusion of at least two carriages of royal stock. There are no details with this negative or those accompanying it but I think this is a 'royal' ecs movement but I can find no record of it on the web. The shed plate states 56A, Wakefield, which might provide a clue.
Does anyone know the when and/or where this event occurred?
Vic Smith has kindly tracked down part of the answer: "The date was Thursday, March 29, 1962, when the Queen Mother visited Bradford to attended the opening of the Delius Festival, marking the centenary of the Bradford-born composer’s birth.
The Royal coaches were on the rear of a service train and were detached at Wakefield Kirkgate station."
