No. 52494 was a Pettigrew designed 3F 0-6-0 for the Furness Railway that was built by NBL (North british Locomotive Co.) in 1913. There's no supporting data with this negative but suffice to say that it was allocated to Moor Row shed until August 1954, Workington until September 1955 and then Barrow-in-Furness - where this shot was taken - until withdrawal in April 1956 with cutting up at Horwich the following month.
