Midland Railway Johnson designed 0-6-0T No. 1907 was the forerunnmer of what we've come to know as the Jinties. The design originated in 1899, the year that this example was built not by Derby but by Vulcan Foundry. The original MR number was probably 2447 but the MR renumbered her 1907 ironically in 1907. In LMSR days Fowler rebuilt the class with Belpaire fireboxes and the 1930's saw a further renumbering so that this example became 7207 which was perpetuated in BR days with the addition of the '4' prefix. 47207 served the railway for 65 years and was withdrawn from Newton Heath mpd in 1964. The shed plate clearly visible here is 16 which, I think, was Altrincham.
