No details came with this superb negative but it was taken circa 1937 and features ex-Midland Railway Kirtley designed 156 class 2-4-0 bearing the LMSR number 20012 photographed expertly at Cambridge (North) with a train leaving for Kettering. The tall building in the right background is the distinctive flour mill at the station whilst the shed yard is just visible in the right middle distance.
No 20012 was built at Derby in November 1867 and would survive until March 1945. One substantially rebuilt member of this class, no. 158A, was saved for posterity and resides as a static exhibit at the Midland Railway Centre, Butterley in Derbyshire.
