I can't understand why it is that I seem to be the only one who waxes lyrical over small steam in a big landscape. I've always loved this shot of a southbound Stanier 5MT scuttling southwards somewhere just south of Tebay in August 1964. I have no record of the exact location but Vic Smith has defined it as:
Salterwath Bridge over the River Lune just south of Tebay. This view is still possible, but sadly only from a moving vehicle on the southbound M6.
