Vintage Irish railways - GNR(I) - Great Northern Railway (Ireland)
Beyer Peacock built this 4-4-0T in 1880 for the Belfast Central Railway where it entered service as its no. 4 but would be absorbed into GNR stock in 1885. Following a rebuild at Dundalk in 1904 she would thereafter be the works pilot engine until withdrawal in 1950. At an unspecified time she was numbered 96 by the GNR , renumbered 96A in 1906 and finally 195 in 1915, that being the number she carried for the rest of her long working life.
