Great Northern Railway (Ireland) railbus no. 1 of 1934 vintage leaves the branch terminus at Oldcastle for Drogheda on 12/6/52. These railbuses had been the mainstay on the branch's passenger sertvices and would remain so until the branch was closed to passenger traffic in April 1958. Goods traffic would continue until 1963.
It's worth mentioning that the station building and wooden train shed are apparently extant and in a good state of repair.
