GWR Churchward Star class 4-6-0 no. 4018 Knight of the Grand Cross at Leamington Spa circa 1948. 4018 was probably a Wolverhampton Stafford Road allocated engine at that time and would be withdrawn from there in April 1951.
As an aside, Len's of Sutton bought one of the nameplates from this engine for the princely sum of £2.13.4 delivered and couldn't find a buyer for it for many a year because it was too big and/or heavy. He had it stored in that labyrinth of sheds beneath his original shop.
