No. 3341 Blasius of the double-framed Bulldog class of 4-4-0 was a product from William Dean's tenure of office at Swindon and was built in 1900. This shot was taken at Reading mpd in 1935 and 3341 would soldier on to be withdrawn from service at Exeter mpd in November 1949. Note that the loco's name is incorporated into the brass plate on the cabside rather than as a separate fixture on the leading splasher. Please note that I have doubts about both the image date and supplied location. From John Lewis: "GWR 3341 was allocated to Reading in 1935 but I agree with you that the location is probably somewhere else."
