Preserved former South Eastern Railway Beyer Garratt no. 38815 liveried as Bengal Nagpur Railway no. 815 at Bhila in 1976. This engine, delivered to the BNR in 1930, was in regular service until 1969 and is depicted here in green livery but, according to my notes here, in real life it was always painted plain black. Nonetheless, the green paint suits it and makes for an impresssive sight. According to Wikipedia no. 815 made a comeback in 2006 wih restoratin, by the SER, to main ine working order.
