South African industrial steam railways
Vryheid Coronation Colliery near Hlobane (northern KwaZulu/Natal) operated a line in the same area as the Enyati Railway and also used the South African Ralways' exchange yard at Boomlager, through which inter-connection was possible. Ex-SAR GEA-class 4-8-2+2-8-4 Beyer-Garratt (VCC No. 5) awaits a heavy overhaul and repainting in the latest "royal blue" colour scheme in the works yard in 1976/7. SAR No. 4031 had been built by Beyer Peacock & Co. [under Gorton Foundry works number 7198/1946] and purchased for further industrial use by Dunns Engineering.
