South African steam railways - Cape Northern System.
A pair of South African Railways 25NC-class 4-8-4 locomotives head a freight train on the Kimberley - Bloemfontein line in 1978. The first is a Henschel-built original version, whilst the second is a rebuilt 25-class condensing locomotive. The removal of the condensing apparatus had resulted in the cut-down appearance of their extra-long tenders; as a result, the converted locos soon became known as "Worshonde" (i.e. "sausage dogs" = dachshunds)!
