PKP Polskie Koleje Państwowe - Polish State Railways steam locomtotive.
Warsaw metre gauge system Tyb6 class 0-6-2T no. 3402 tucked away in a siding at Piaseczno on 29/5/73. A correspondent informs me that this loco had been set aside "in reserve" before his visit in 1970. That same correspondent, Martin Murray, provided this fascinating background data for 3402 :
3402 and 3403 were originally 0-4-0Ts, Skoda 1102 and 1074 respectively, built to 900mm gauge in 1940 for Grube Leopold in Köthen. After the war they somehow ended up in Poland, were regauged to metre gauge, and rebuilt to 0-6-2Ts.
