At Greenside Colliery (Blackhill, Witbank district, Transvaal), an ex-South African Railways S-class 0-8-0 locomotive prepares to collect a train of coal wagons from the loading area destined for the SAR exchange sidings in 1980. Two S-class locomotives (SAR nos. 367 and 362) would eventually carry Greenside numbers 5 & 6 but this one was unnumbered when photographed, so its identity is uncertain. After major overhaul, this type would normally be supplied from Dunns Engineering (of Witbank), which also hired out such locomotives under short-term contracts.
