Mike's Picture of the Week 2014/47

A Colonel Stephens light railway shot taken at Tenterden in 1946. The loco is Kent & East Sussex Railway Saddleback 0-6-0ST no. 4 which originated with the LSWR as no. 335 of the 330 class. No. 335 was the last of the first batch of six locos of this class built by Beyer Peacock in 1876. It was subsequently numbered 0335 on the LSWR's duplicate list and would survive beyond the 1923 grouping being exchanged ogether with some spares and two ex-LSWR carriages by the Southern Railway for the KESR's 0-8-0T Hecate and three ancient carriages in 1932 where it worked until withdrawal in 1948.
