French narrow gauge railway - Réseau Breton RCTS visit on 29-8-65
Franco-Belge 1904 built 4-6-0T no. E325 pauses for a photo stop at Gare de Merdrignac. I bought this fine negative for the view of the station rather than the locomotive and was surprised to find that it even includes a tour participant using the outdoor gents urinal.
This pretty railway sytem and its equally attractive rolling stock became largely defunct in 1967 and sadly none of the Franco-Belge 4-6-0T's survived into the heritage era although, thankfully, two of their Fives Lille younger sisters did.
